Experienced Swedish touring car team Kristoffersson Motorsport will contest its home event of next year's World Rallycross Championship, as it continues to evaluate a full-time move into the series.
The team, which also hopes to compete in selected other events in 2014, will race under the Volkswagen Dealer Team banner and will use brand new VW Polos.
Team owner Tommy Kristoffersson said it hopes to build experience next year in advance of a planned full assault on the championship.
"We are committed to the Swedish [Rallycross] championship this season," Kristoffersson said.
"But we will do the Swedish round of the [Rallycross] world championship of course, and more - but we need to see the calendar first.
"This isn't a one year project and the plan is to be competing in the world championship full-time as soon as possible."
The team ran a pair of VW Scirocco's on their return to the sport this year but will change to the Polo model for 2104.
"The Polo is the best choice from the marketing side, and also from the technical point of view," Kristoffersson added.
Experienced circuit racer Johan Kristoffersson will lead the development driving of the new car.
The 2012 STCC and Superstars champion competed in his home event at Holjes in 2013, and would have made the final but for his bonnet coming up and blocking his windscreen in the semi-final.
Kristofferson will be joined by young Norwegian Ole Christian Veiby, who has driving in the Scandinavian Porsche Carrera Cup this season. Veiby recently tested Kristoffersson's VW Sirocco Supercar at Holjes.
