Weather Unlikely to Improve

The changeable weather conditions look set to continue for this week's Rally of Turkey, making it the most difficult event of the season so far, according to many of the leading drivers

Citroen returnee Carlos Sainz, the most experienced driver in the field for the seventh round of this year's World Rally Championship, said: "I have seen worse conditions on very few rallies. It is terrible. If I could have chosen stages to come back to the championship on, these would not have been the ones."

Sainz added that driving without gravel crews - two people going through the stages a couple of hours ahead of the competitors to make final route checks - would make the job even harder.

"Without the gravel crews, it will not be nice," he said. "With more rain, we don't know what is waiting. For sure we will have some good times this weekend, but also there will be many exciting moments waiting for us with weather like this."
