Stage 16: Leaders just 1.2s apart
Another fastest stage time on Arganil 2 has brought Richard Burns to within 1.2s of Portugeese Rally leader Marcus Gronholm
Burns has been fastest on all but one of today's stages in the new Subaru Impreza and has easily clawed back the time lost yesterday when he had to fight through two stages without power steering.
The Fords of Carlos Sainz and Petter Solberg still hold third and fourth, with the latter under pressure from Harri Rovanpera in the Grifone Toyota Corolla.
Rovanpera's former team SEAT continues to struggle. Didier Auriol's steering drama's have now dropped him from sixth this morning to 11th, narrowly ahead of team-mate Toni Gardemeister.
