SS10, Stiri 1: Delecour again
Francois Delecour took his stage win tally to three on the shortened Stiri 1 test. The Ford driver completed the 3.59km section in 1m57.3s
The stage was originally 9.34km, however it was cut short because the downhill sections at the end of the stage were deemed to be too dangerous by the drivers. Since the revised stage was so short the overall leaderboard remains unchanged as none of the leading driver either lost or made up big amounts of time.
Behind Delecour Carlos Sainz and Tommi Makinen were less than two tenths of second slower than the Frenchman. The third Ford of Colin McRae in fourth.
Richard Burns was fifth quickest and will keen to reel in rally leader McRae on the next stage, Gravia 1, because the remaining two stages of the day are re-runs through previous tests.
Bruno Thiry's Skoda made it into the top six, finishing ahead of Petter Solberg and team mate Armin Schwarz. Hamed al-Wahaibi's Subaru was ninth, with Henrik Lungaard's Toyota Corolla rounding out the top 10 times.
