Rossi inks Rally GB Peugeot drive
Motorcycle world champion Valentino Rossi has confirmed his deal to drive a Peugeot 206 WRC on the Rally GB in November
The 23-year-old, who has claimed the inaugural MotoGP title this year, will be run by the Italian Grifone team. Miki Biasion's former co-driver Carlo Cassini will partner him.
"I can't wait to get behind the wheel of the Peugeot 206 WRC and to take part for the first time in a round of the World Rally Championship, which Michelin and Grifone have made possible for me," said Rossi.
"I am very keen and very serious about this and I want to get as much experience as I can. I know how difficult this British rally is, but it would be great for me to get to the finish."
Rossi's rally experience is confined to appearing in the annual Race of Champions sprint event in the Canary Islands for the past two years. On both occasions he made it through to the quarter-final stages.
The Cardiff-based Rally GB starts on November 14.
