Petter Solberg more confident than ever of victory credentials
Ford driver Petter Solberg says he feels more confident than ever in his Fiesta RS WRC's ability to win this week's Rally GB
The Norwegian is hoping to end a seven-year win drought on the Cardiff-based event - a result which would also give the Ford factory team its first WRC victory since Jari-Matti Latvala won Rally Sweden in February.
"I feel very, very confident for this rally," said Solberg. "I felt like I clicked with the car at the last test, everything is in place now.
"You have to remember that [Sebastien] Loeb has had 12 years or something in that kind of car and I have only been in the Ford for a few months.
"But now I really feel like I am there. I really feel like we can fight for the victory, this is the most confident I have felt for the whole year."
Solberg has the best record of any driver on this event, having won in Wales four times. He says the chance add GB win number five would be a dream result.
"That is the number one aim," said Solberg. "That is the only thing I am focused on, winning.
"Of course, there is a lot of pressure on me and on the whole team and I won't say we are desperate, but we really, really want to win here."
