Loeb in prime position
Citroen's Sebastien Loeb merely has to hold his third position overall or even drop down one place in the order and the Frenchman is guaranteed his first WRC title at this weekend's Rally de France

Loeb is currently 26 points ahead of Solberg with this weekend's rally in Corsica and two others to go before the end of the season. Told by his boss Guy Frequelin to take it easy ahead of this weekend's event, Loeb has instead put pedal to metal and even won the final stage of the day on Friday.
Despite his comfortable lead in the championship, Loeb has admitted that he's just thinking about scoring the five points that will guarantee him the title, rather than pushing for his first WRC victory on home soil.
"The roads are drier than expected," he said. "I chose cut slick tyres as information was that the roads were 60 percent damp on this stage. This proved to be a bad choice, as the roads were almost totally dry. It really damaged my tyres. The Fords have really made an excellent start to the rally, but I'm not focusing on their performance."
