Ken Block announces reduced World Rally Championship programme for 2012
Monster World Rally Team driver Ken Block will only contest three rounds of the World Rally Championship this season, due to more competitive commitments in America

The Ford Fiesta RS WRC driver will make his 2012 debut on next month's Rally Mexico, before continuing his shortened programme in New Zealand and Finland. The American is delighted to finally be able to make the Jyvaskyla event, having been forced to miss it due to a clash with X Games in Los Angeles previously.
Block will still contest X Games along with all five rounds of the Global RallyCross series, four national north American rallies and a five-stop Gymkhana world tour. In the middle of that programme, Block will also film and launch Gymkhana five.
"I'm super stoked to be able to run such a diverse schedule this year," said Block. "Global RallyCross is shaping up to be a very exciting and new championship here in the United States and I'm looking forward to the new challenges that will bring.
"I'm also thrilled that despite committing to the full GRC season, I'm still going to be able to fit three WRC events into my schedule, as well as a handful of Rally America and Canadian Rally races.
"I don't think there's another driver out there that gets to compete in so many different series, as well as gets to do awesome side projects like Gymkhana FIVE and my Gymkhana World Tour. I'm truly a lucky bastard because this is going to be an amazing year."
Block revealed his 2012 plans via an amusing spoof Q & A video.
