Gronholm re-signs for Peugeot, despite it all...

World champion Marcus Gronholm has re-committed to Peugeot's WRC attack for another two years, but British ace Richard Burns has denied speculation that he could be joining the Finn in the French squad

Gronholm re-signs for Peugeot, despite it all...

Gronholm has extended his contract until the end of the 2003 season and says he is unconcerned by the spate of 206 WRC reliability problems that have seen him retire on all but one of this season's rallies.

"I'm sure our luck will change," said Gronholm. "The car is good and when we get reliability it will be strong."

Subaru ace Burns had been tipped to leave the Banbury-based Prodrive squad for a lucrative deal with Peugeot, despite having a contract option until the end of 2002. But speaking before Acropolis, the Englishman was positive he would stay with the Japanese marque.

"I would expect so, yes," he told Autosport.com.

Instead, Gronholm's team mate is likely to remain veteran Frenchman Didier Auriol, who looks secure in his seat unless he decides to retire from rallying altogether at the end of the season.
