Grapevine: Solberg stars in Oslo event
Petter Solberg once again performed to a sell-out crowd at his Solberg Extreme Motorshow in Oslo last weekend
Solberg was joined by his brother Henning and numerous other World Rally Championship stars, including Dani Sordo and Mikko Hirvonen for the Race of Champions-style event.
Solberg's countryman Mads Ostberg eventually won the event in his Subaru Impreza WRC infront of 15,000 fans.
"It was incredible again," said Petter Solberg. "It's been such a good show. We sold a lot of tickets for Friday, when it was just qualifying and practice, but on Saturday it was a complete sell out. And everything was perfect this time, everything was on time, it was a great show."
Solberg's rally team manager Ken Rees said the event was so successful they were considering a move to Stockholm for a bigger venue next year.
"It's possible you could sell a few more thousand tickets," said Rees, "but you have to balance the chance to sell more tickets with the atmosphere from a sell-out crowd and being in Oslo. It's something we're going to take a look at. But for now, it was a great event and everybody is delighted with the way it ran."
