FIA denies Acropolis Rally already dropped from 2014 WRC schedule

The FIA has received a proposed 2014 calendar from the World Rally Championship promoter, but the governing body insists no firm decisions have been taken on which rallies are in and out for next season

FIA denies Acropolis Rally already dropped from 2014 WRC schedule

FIA rally director Jamo Mahonen dismissed particular speculation that the Acropolis Rally had been ditched for 2014.

The Greek organisers have been working hard to gather support for what they promise will be an improved Loutraki event next season.

"We all know about the economic situation in Greece," Mahonen said, "but no decisions on the calendar have been taken - what we have is a proposal.

"We have the calendar now and we are fine-tuning. It's a good proposal, but we have to remember this is a transition period, so we're not looking at radical changes.

"The events which are on the proposal have all signed the agreement with the promoter."
