Dates confirmed for 2003 WRC

The first Rally of Turkey to be held as part of the World Rally Championship has been confirmed to run on February 26 - March 3, on the definitive calendar for the 2003 WRC which has been unveiled by the FIA

The event in Turkey has replaced the Safari Rally on the schedule, which was dropped because organisers had not given the necessary guarantees for the event to take place.

The calendar contained few alterations from the provisional schedule announced in October, the only change confirmation of the dates for the Turkey round and the Cyprus Rally. The Cyprus event will run on June 18 - 22.

Both the Rallye Deutschland and Rally of Great Britain remain provisional on the calendar, and are subject to observers' reports following safety concerns. British motorsport's governing body, the Motor Sports Association, has introduced new plans for this year's event to control spectators. These include limiting access to stages, and creating a special spectator area on the Rheola Forest stage.
