Citroen enters Kris Meeke and Craig Breen for Rally GB

Citroen has granted Kris Meeke's wish for a Rally GB entry and will field the Northern Irishman alongside Craig Breen in next month's Welsh World Rally Championship round

Meeke and Breen's presence will be officially confirmed when Rally GB announces its entry list later on Friday.

Citroen had hesitated over entering Meeke for what is effectively his home WRC event while it considered giving Breen and Stephane Lefebvre extra experience as they vie for a possible 2017 chance.

Autosport understands a third DS 3 WRC has been entered for Lefebvre but that it remains dependent on the Frenchman's recovery from his Rally Germany crash.

If Lefebvre is not fit in time, Khalid Al Qassimi could take over the entry.

Meeke and Breen both declined to comment on Citroen's driver line-up plans for the rest of the season.

In other Rally GB field news, Elfyn Evans has taken up the 'Road to Wales' entry he won when he was crowned British Rally champion.

It remains unclear, however, whether the Welshman will drive a Ford Fiesta R5 or a RS WRC - and if he does return to a World Rally Car for the first time this season whether it will be on Michelin or DMACK tyres.
