Burns surges into the lead on SS13

Richard Burns has stormed into the lead of Rally GB on the penultimate stage of the day, notching up a 10 second lead over world championship rival Marcus Gronholm

The order at the top of the standings remains largely unchanged, but outgoing world champ Tommi Makinen spun his Mitsubishi just before the end of the stage and so lost third place to Ford's Carlos Sainz.

The cars now head to the second service area of the day before the final stage of Leg Two - the 1.5-mile SuperSpecial track in Cardiff, which starts at 1800 BST.
