Al-Attiyah aims for four titles in 2010

Former Production Car World Rally champion Nasser Al-Attiyah is targeting an unprecedented four major rally titles this season

The six-time Middle East Rally Championship winner, who came within an ace of winning this year's Dakar, has switched from Ford to Skoda for the Super 2000 World Rally Championship, the Intercontinental Rally Challenge and the Middle East Rally Championship.

In addition to that busy programme, he will also contest three rounds of the FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies in a factory Volkswagen Race Touareg 2.

"I did a lot of rallies in 2008 and 2009, so I'm not worried by this programme," said 2006 Production champion Al-Attiyah. "I'm really looking forward to it, it will be a big challenge.

"I'm quite happy to be doing it with the help from the Volkswagen Group and the support from Skoda. I'm competing in four championships and the aim is to win them."

Al-Attiyah won last month's opening round of the Middle East Rally Championship in a Ford Fiesta S2000, but his three-year contract with Volkswagen prompted a switch to the Skoda for his other rallying activities. His first outing in a Fabia S2000 will be on next month's Rally Mexico.
