Prodrive's main World Rally Championship Mini squad will miss the next two rounds of the series in Argentina and Greece before returning for three more events later in the year.
Regular driver Dani Sordo will drive one of the team's Mini WRCs in New Zealand, Germany and on Rally GB. Prodrive confirmed it is in discussions with other drivers about the second car for those events.
"We looked at the events we thought would be our most competitive and which gave an even spread throughout the year," said team principal Dave Wilcock.
"After our pace on tarmac last year and Dani's podiums and near win in France, Germany was an obvious choice. Rally GB is clearly our home event, while after the performance of the new car on the gravel of Portugal, we felt New Zealand should give us a further opportunity to demonstrate that we have the pace to win on loose surfaces."
Prodrive, which will give Sordo a Mini of the same specification as the one he took six stage wins on Rally Portugal with, is planning on taking in further events between Rally GB and the end of the season.
While the official Prodrive WRC Team will not be present in Argentina, the company will run a customer Mini for former Formula 1 driver Eliseo Salazar.
