Robert Kubica crashed out of his debut at the World Rally Championship's top level on Rally GB's first Friday morning stage.
Kubica had held seventh place at the end of Thursday evening's loop.
But he rolled into a ditch on the Hafren stage that commenced Friday's action.
Although the stage was stopped following the crash, Citroen has confirmed that Kubica and new co-driver Michele Ferrara are unhurt.
WRC2 champion Kubica had stepped up to a Citroen World Rally Car for Rally GB.
If the car can be repaired, he could yet rejoin on Saturday under Rally2 rules, but will have incurred 30 minutes of penalties.
