Tamas Pal Kiss to make his World Rallycross debut in Germany

GP3 race winner Tamas Pal Kiss will make his debut in the World Rallycross Championship later this month at the Estering in Germany

The 24-year-old switched from single-seaters to rallycross full-time for 2015 and he has been racing in the Hungarian championship in a Skoda Fabia Supercar.

"My expectations for Germany vary," Kiss, who will compete at the world championship event racing for Euro RX points, told AUTOSPORT.

"On one hand I would like to get some experience, and to see where our current car is against the latest generation cars, but on the other hand I would like to be close to the frontrunners in the Euro RX category.

"I hope to be in top 10, but would be even happier to be in the final and from there you never know."

Kiss says he may race at another World RX event this season, again in the European Championship category, but he is focusing on racing full time in 2016.

"We originally planned two World RX races this year, but it will depend on our results and my partners," he said.

"We are hoping for a more extended programme in 2016. I am putting all of my efforts into racing in World RX for the season sooner than later.

"But, the reality is that I might put a Euro RX programme together for 2016 and then in 2017 it could be feasible to have a full World RX programme."

Kiss finished second in Auto GP last year, but he was without a drive for 2015 and feels he made the right decision by moving to rallycross.

"When I looked at my career in end of 2014, I have arrived to a point when I felt that I have found myself in a dead end road," he said.

"Rallycross is a professional up and coming racing category, where you can enter the European or World championship with even your own prepared Supercar."

The Hungarian currently lies fourth in his domestic championship, having scoring one victory.

The fourth round of the championship takes place this weekend at former European Championship venue, Nyirad, where World RX driver Max Pucher will also compete in a Ford Fiesta.
