Binks and Scott back to World Rallycross for Albatec at Lydden Hill

David Binks will partner British Rallycross Championship Andy Scott leader in Albatec Racing's Peugeots at the Motorsport News World RX of Great Britain at Lydden Hill later this month

Binks, an experienced rallycross driver who climbed through the ranks in Britain before partnering Marcus Gronholm in the Olsbergs-run Best Buy Global Rallycross team, made a one-off appearance for Albatec last season, deputising for Jacques Villeneuve at the French round of World RX at Loheac.

"It's great to be getting back behind the wheel again with Albatec, we ran last year in France and had a few little issues with driver and car," said Binks.

"But after being out of the sport for two years it was great to be back.

"With the updates on the car for 2015, I am excited to be climbing back on board to see how it goes at a track I cut my teeth on throughout my early years of rallycross.

"I am not looking for anything crazy results-wise, everyone knows to be fast and competitive in this sport you need a lot of seat time and that's something I have missed out on over the past few years, but a strong result and a good show for my British fans is what I look to achieve."

Team owner and driver Scott has taken a back seat from regular international competition in 2015, but leads the British series after winning the opening two rounds of the season at Croft and Lydden Hill.

Albatec will run a pair of 208 Supercars for Frenchman Jerome Grosset-Janin and former British rally driver James Grint in the European Rallycross Championship this season, which runs at five of the World RX events and gets under way at Mettet in Belgium next week.

Grint will also join Scott for round three of the British series at Pembrey this weekend as he warms up for his Euro RX campaign.
