Three Ferrari 550s in, Morgan out

Care Racing Development has had three of its Ferrari 550 Maranello machines accepted into the GTS category for the Le Mans 24 Hours, but the British Morgan marque has failed to get an entry for its BMW-powered Aero 8

Two of the Prodrive-built Ferrari 550s will be campaigned by Veloqx Prodrive Racing, the joint venture between Prodrive and Veloqx Motorsport which finished second in the GTS class in the Sebring 12 Hours last month. Last year, Prodrive fielded a single car.

The same six drivers who were at Sebring - Kelvin Burt, Anthony Davidson, Jamie Davies, Tomas Enge, Peter Kox and Darren Turner - will be back on board for Le Mans. The third entry is for Luc Alphand Aventures who, along with the French Solution F team, will be challenging for Le Mans GTS honours for the first time.

Despite the blow of being rejected from the Le Mans entry list, Morgan has pledged to continue with its racing programme, and will now turn its attentions to selected rounds of the FIA GT Championship.
