TDS withdraws Le Mans 24 Hours Aston, Algarve team gets entry

The French TDS Racing squad has withdrawn its GTE Am class Aston Martin from the Le Mans 24 Hours

The pull-out and that of first reserve Greaves Motorsport following its European Le Mans Series exit with its championship-winning Gibson means that the Algarve Pro Racing squad (pictured) moves up to take a firm spot on the entry list.

The Portuguese-based team, a regular in LMP2 in both the European and Asian Le Mans Series over the past year, will make its debut in the 24 Hours with a Ligier-Nissan JSP2.

Briton Michael Munemann, who raced a Greaves car in the 24 Hours in 2014, is so far the only driver confirmed for its Le Mans and ELMS campaigns.

ELMS frontrunner TDS will still be represented at Le Mans with its ORECA-Nissan 05.

Two more teams have also decided not to maintain their places on the reserve list.

The Riley Motorsports squad has stood down its Dodge Viper SRT GTS-R after amateur driver Ben Keating, who was backing the programme, forged a deal with the Murphy Prototypes squad.

The Proton Competition Porsche team has withdrawn a fifth car on the entry list after its factory-backed GTE Pro 911 RSR, two GTE Am cars under its own name and another in the same class to be run under the KCMG banner.

The six-car reserve list is now headed by the British JMW Ferrari team.
