McNish eager to win third Le Mans

Allan McNish is eager to regain the Le Mans 24 Hours crown from Peugeot this year, following today's announcement that he will again partner Tom Kristensen and Dindo Capello in an Audi R15

McNish and Audi were beaten by the French manufacturer in last year's race, but the Scot is determined to return successfully in the R15's second year.

"Winning the Le Mans 24 Hours is Audi's main objective this year," said McNish, who will share with Kristensen and Capello for the fifth consecutive year. "Audi has finished on the rostrum every year since making its Le Mans debut in 1999, but having won eight times, last year's third place was an under par performance.

"Audi and I have the same desire, to go back to France this year and win. But it will be a difficult challenge against Peugeot and Aston Martin.

"We'll need to be at our top level but with Tom and Dindo in my car, plus our team-mates in the other two Audis, I know we have the best driver line-up, team personnel and car in the form of the latest specification Audi R15 to do the job."
