Harry Tincknell switches to sportscars with Jota Sport LMP2
European Formula 3 Championship race winner Harry Tincknell will switch to sportscars with the Jota Sport LMP2 squad in 2014
The 22-year-old Briton has been confirmed as one of the drivers in the team's Zytek-Nissan Z11SN in the five-round European Le Mans Series and the Le Mans 24 Hours after a successful test in the car at the Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain last year.
Tincknell will share the Zytek with team regular Simon Dolan and a third, platinum-rated driver who has yet to be announced.
Jota boss Sam Hignett said: "Harry is a hungry young driver with bags of experience, and I'm sure that will translate into an excellent sportscar racer.
"There's a wealth of talented guys emerging from single-seaters at the moment and, in Harry, we feel we've landed one of the best.
Tincknell, whose career is being guided by three-time Le Mans winner Allan McNish, added: "Jota is a very professional operation and that allowed me to work well with them and Simon from the word go. Right away, I felt that this is where I want to be."
McLaren Formula 1 development driver Oliver Turvey, who starred with Jota in last year's ELMS, looks set to move up to the World Endurance Championship with the Delta/ADR team after testing one of its ORECA-Nissan 03s in Bahrain last month.
