H6: Wurz takes over the lead
Peugeot remains in the lead of the Le Mans 24 Hours but Alex Wurz now leads in the #9 908 after Sebastien Bourdais brought the #8 car into the garage and lost 10 minutes
The Peugeot mechanics went to work on the left rear of the car to fix what turned out to be a loose disc-bell. Bourdais remained at the wheel of the car and rejoined in sixth place, one lap down.
The Audi R15s of Rinaldo Capello and Lucas Luhr remain in striking distance, now on the lead lap, while the third R15 is still up on jacks in its garage. Bourdais rejoined the race in sixth place.
Anthony Davidson took over the #008 Aston Martin Racing LMP1 at the beginning of the hour and began to extend the gap to team-mate Jan Charouz. Having caught and passed the Astons, the #7 Pescarolo Peugeot 908 slipped behind again when it made a routine pitstop and Benoit Treluyer took over the car.
Treluyer gradually hauled the Astons in again by around three seconds a lap. Charouz suffered a puncture and lost sixth place to Treluyer, but Davidson found an answer to the Peugeot's pace and pegged the gap at 24 seconds. He is now in fourth place, a lap behind the leaders.
The Porsche RS Spyders disputing the LMP2 class remained locked together and both made their routine pitstops at once. Keisuke Kunimoto remained in the #5 Navi Team Goh entry while Emmanuel Collard took over the #31 Team Essex car. Jonny Kane, third in class in the Speedy Racing Sebah Lola, is a lap behind the battle for the lead.
Jan Magnussen leads GT1 in his #63 Chevrolet Corvette, almost a lap ahead of the sister car driven by Oliver Gavin.
Former GT2 class front runners Flying Lizard continued to tumble down the order after Seth Neiman spun and damaged the #80 Porsche. Darren Law took over the car but it is now two laps behind class leader.
Mika Salo took over the GT2 lead in his Risi Ferrari F430 GT after Raymond Narac made a long stop in the #76 IMSA Performance Porsche. Narac had been lapping so quickly that the team suspected his engine's restrictor had become dislodged, so he was brought in to have the component replaced.
Gianmaria Bruni leapfrogged his #78 AF Corse Ferrari past the #92 JMW Motorsport Ferrari of Andrew Kirkaldy during their routine pitstops. Ferrari now occupies the top three positions in the GT2 class.
