H20: Audi maintain lead

Audi continue to lead the Le Mans 24 Hours, but there was drama in the GT1 class as Tomas Enge spun in spectacular fashion while chasing a podium finish

The race is moving towards its final stages with many teams now aiming for the finish line. Marco Werner continues to enjoy a five lap lead in his Audi over Jacques Villeneuve who is maintaining a two lap lead over Stephane Sarrazin.

Romain Dumas is fourth, while Stuart Hall runs fifth in the Rollcentre Racing Pescarolo after an excellent race for the British team.

GT1 cars are up into the top six positions, with Darren Turner continuing to lead the class ahead of Johnny O'Connell's Corvette C6.R, but the number 007 Aston Martin DBR9 of Tomas Enge had a massive spin at the Indianapolis corner while running fourth in class.

The Czech driver had closed to within one second of Christophe Bouchut in third place, but he was forced to bring the car onto pit road with a flat front tyre.

Bill Binnie leads the LMP2 class by an enormous 18 laps after another of the front-runners of the category hit problems. Karim Ojjeh, running second in the LMP2 class behind the wheel of the Barazi Epsilon Zytek, was devastated to have spun away his position, crashing into the pit wall and retirement.

Adrian Fernandez now lies second in the class in the Zytek which Haruki Kurosawa crashed at Arnage earlier this morning.

Raymond Narac leads the Krohn Ferrari by six laps in the IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche, with Lars Eric Nielsen third in the Autorlando Porsche and Adrian Newey continuing in fourth position in the AF Corse Ferrari, benefitting from the demise of the Scuderia Ecosse team.
