Bleekemolen and Goossens join Murphy Prototypes line-up for Le Mans

Jeroen Bleekemolen and Marc Goossens will contest the Le Mans 24 Hours together with the Murphy Prototypes ORECA LMP2 squad

The two sportscar stalwarts will drive the Murphy ORECA-Nissan 03R at Le Mans on June 18/19 alongside American Ben Keating, with whom both have driven at the Riley Motorsports Dodge Viper squad in the IMSA Sportscar Championship.

The deal has come about through Murphy's relationship with Riley and its arrangement to run the new Riley-Ave AR-2 LMP3 car in the European Le Mans Series this season.

It follows Riley only making the reserve list for the 24 Hours with the GTE Am class Dodge Viper SRT GTS-R driven by Bleekemolen, Keating and Marc Miller last year.

Team boss Greg Murphy told Autosport: "We're delighted to be going back to Le Mans with such a strong line-up.

"We met the guys through Riley, who unfortunately didn't get their entry for Le Mans, and it went from there."

Murphy added that he hoped the arrangement would "strengthen our relationship with Riley", which has a new-rules LMP2 in design for 2017.

The Murphy drive marks a return to Le Mans for former Nissan, Cadillac and Dodge factory driver Goossens after an absence of three years.

The Belgian made the most recent of his 12 Le Mans appearances in a factory GTE Pro class Viper run by Riley in 2013.

Murphy has yet to announce its driver line-up in the ORECA for the ELMS.
