Alexandre Imperatori returns to KCMG squad for Le Mans 24 Hours

Switzerland's Alexandre Imperatori will return to the Chinese KCMG LMP2 squad for the Le Mans 24 Hours and other selected World Endurance Championship events in 2014

Imperatori, who drove KCMG's Morgan-Nissan LMP2 at Le Mans last season and in the Silverstone WEC round, will race the team's new ORECA-Nissan 03 alongside full-season signings Richard Bradley and Matt Howson.

Team boss Paul Ip said: "Alex did a good job for us last year and we want continuity.

"He is confirmed for four rounds so far, including Le Mans."

Two-time Formula Nippon champion Tsugio Matsuda, who drove the Morgan at the Fuji WEC race, has been confirmed for the Silverstone opener on April 20 and the Austin round in September.

Ip explained that he had looked for a Chinese driver to contest the full season alongside Bradley and Howson, but was unable to find the right person.

KCMG will again contest the Asian Le Mans Series, most likely with another ORECA in place of its Morgan.

It also plans to expand to run a Group CN car in Asia after the opening up of the series to the cars that run in the VdeV and SPEED championships in Europe ahead of the introduction of the new LMP3 class in 2015.
