Jack Clarke will move into the European Le Mans Series in 2012, driving a Boutsen Ginion-run ORECA Nissan.
Clarke has spent the past three seasons competing in Formula 2. He scored three podiums in 2010, and recorded his first win at Brands Hatch in last year's championship.
In addition to driving the ORECA in LMP2 - the highest category in ELMS - Clarke will also race a McLaren MP4-12C in this year's Blancpain series.
"I am really excited for this opportunity," Clarke said. "I can see that there is a great future in sportscar racing with manufacturers like Audi, Porsche and Toyota either competing or waiting in the wings.
"My step father, Julian Bailey, made a great career in this category and I am excited to be following in his footsteps.
"There will be some fantastic races across the two championships, all the ELMS races are six hours and at some of the best tracks in Europe and I am looking forward to racing in the Spa 24 hours race in a McLaren."
Clarke will get his first taste of the ORECA at the official ELMS test at Paul Ricard on March 9.
