2008 entry list revealed
Le Mans 24 Hours organisers have revealed the entry list for this year's event, with 20 LMP1 cars due to take the start
Audi and Peugeot will renew their diesel rivalry with three cars each. Pescarolo will again run two works cars with British customer squad Rollcentre Racing adding a third.
Creation will run one works car and American squad Autocon will bring another. There will be four Courages, two from merged works outfit Oreca and two from Japan with the Terramos and Tokai University squads.
Charouz will enter two Lolas, Chamberlain-Synergy will enter one, and Japanese constructor Dome will bring a single works entry. The final LMP1 entry is from Spanish team turned manufacturer Epsilon Euskadi.
Joan Villadelprat's team, which include ex-Formula One designer Sergio Rinland and ex-Penske and Lola Champ Car designer John Travis, put the finishing touches to their closed-roof EE-LMP1-07 this week.
The LMP2 entries are led by the first appearance at Le Mans of the Porsche RS Spyder. Team Essex and Van Merksteijn Motorsport will bring one each. Speedy Racing Team Sebah will debut its closed-roof Lola in the 12-car class this year.
Aston Martin and Corvette will again go head-to-head for GT1 honours with four cars each, and in GT2, there will be eight Ferraris, three Porsches and two Spykers.
The reserve list contains three more LMP1 cars - Saulnier's Pescarolo and second entries for Creation and Epsilon.
