#1 Porsche dominating at Le Mans as LMP2 cars fight for podium

Porsche leads the Le Mans 24 Hours after 13 hours with it the only LMP1 not to encounter problems in this year's race

The #1 Porsche 919 Hybrid shared by Neel Jani, Andre Lotterer and Nick Tandy has extended its advantage to 10 laps over the chasing LMP2 pack.

Tandy handed over to Lotterer during an hour in which they were lapping six or seven seconds slower than their ultimate race pace.

The delayed #2 Porsche with Brendon Hartley at the wheel has moved up to 16th position and is now only seven laps down on the second-placed Jackie Chan DC Racing ORECA-Gibson driven by Ho-Pin Tung.

The #8 Toyota, which like the second Porsche has had a new motor generator unit installed, is down in 38th position.

JACKIE CHAN TAKES COMMAND OF LMP2

Ho-Pin Tung moved the #38 Jackie Chan DC Racing ORECA into the lead in LMP2 and holds a lead of 4.3s over David Heineiemer Hansson in the #13 Rebellion ORECA.

The #38 car had been expected to slip back to second when Tung made his stop at the end of lap 189, but he was able to re-emerge just ahead of the lead Rebellion.

The #35 Signatech ORECA of Pierre Ragues ran third at the end of the hour, but is due to slip back behind the #31 Rebellion of Julien Canal when it makes its next stop.

The #31 car had led at the start of the hour, but Nicolas Prost spent five minutes in the pits after being rolled into the garage for some running repairs.

FERRARI UP FRONT IN GTE

Nicki Thiim is leading GTE Pro in the #95 Aston Martin Vantage GTE.

Alessandro Pier Guidi pitted out of the lead just before the end of the hour in the #51 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE

A total of 10 cars were still on the lead lap in GTE Pro with 11 hours of the race to go.

The British JMW squad led GTE Am with its new Ferrari 488 GTE, Will Stevens holding a lead of the better part of a lap over the TF Sport Aston with Euan Hankey at the wheel.
