Two from Two for Todd Kelly
Todd Kelly and Mark Skaife continued Holden Racing Team's recent hot form as they took another 1-2 in race two at Hidden Valley
Kelly won his second race of the weekend with his teammate Skaife making it two HRT 1-2 finishes in two races. Garth Tander made it an all-Holden podium as Ford's leading contenders struck problems.
Marcos Ambrose finished 28th after a flat tyre sent him off the road early in the race, while Craig Lowndes finished 32nd following contact and repairs. There was some good news for Ford, Russell Ingall continuing his climb up the field to finish in fourth place.
The start of the race saw Todd Kelly leading from Marcos Ambrose, Mark Skaife and Craig Lowndes. Lowndes was first of the leaders to pit on lap nine, but as he rejoined the track and raced through turn one, he turned across the nose of Russell Ingall, spinning himself out and down to 27th place.
Skaife and Ambrose pitted on lap ten, Ambrose losing a place to Skaife in the pits before spearing off the circuit on his out lap, pitting on the next lap to replace a flat tyre, putting Ambrose a lap down in dead last. Todd Kelly pitted soon after as other drivers decided to stay out longer.
Eventually the lead returned to Kelly once all the stops were over, with teammate Skaife in second. Next was Tander followed by Ingall and Tander's teammate Rick Kelly. In the meantime Craig Lowndes had pitted for repairs to his rear suspension as a consequence of his earlier incident with Ingall.
A late race caution had potential to shake the order up but at the front it remained the same, Kelly leading Skaife, Tander, Ingall and Kelly home to the chequered flag.
