NASCAR frontrunner Carl Edwards is the latest driver to announce his participation in this year's Race of Champions in Dusseldorf on 27-28 November.
Edwards previously contested the RoC in 2008, when he famously knocked Michael Schumacher out of the competition in their head to head round. He will pair up with X-Games star Travis Pastrana to represent America in the nation versus nation element.
"I really enjoyed my first trip to the Race of Champions and I'm delighted to be going back," said Edwards.
"It's a great opportunity to mix with the best drivers from all the biggest series of motorsport around the world. I'll be aiming to knock out some more megastars while Travis and I will give it everything to try and bring the ROC Nations Cup home to the USA."
RoC organiser Fredrik Johnsson welcomed Edwards' return to the event.
"He made a big impact at his first appearance in 2008, as Michael Schumacher will no doubt remember well," said Johnsson. "Now let's see what he can do on Michael's home turf."
