Former GP2 racer Yelmer Buurman has been confirmed as the driver of the PSV Eindhoven car in the first season of the Superleague Formula, which kicks off at Donington Park next weekend.
The Dutchman has already tested the car at Barcelona and Vallelunga and will be out again in the pre-race test at Donington tomorrow.
Buurman, who previously raced in Formula Renault 3.5 and British F3, is looking forward to the novelties of the new series.
"I think it's going to be really interesting, especially with the reverse grid," he said. "Other series have reversed the top six or eight, but never the entire field. That will be a big challenge.
"There will obviously be a lot of pressure, suddenly every PSV fan will be a supporter of mine so I have a very big responsibility."
The Eindhoven car will be operated by Belgian team Azerti, which is run by former GT racer Wim Coekelbergs, and will also run the car of United Arab Emirates club Al Ain.
