Tost: Toro Rosso facing 'tough' winter

Toro Rosso has a long winter of hard work ahead if it is to improve on its ninth place in the constructors' standings, reckons team boss Franz Tost

Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari had just eight points finishes between them in 2010, and Tost says the team needs to make improvements if the pair are to be more competitive in 2011.

"I'm not so happy with the complete season, we will have some tough months in November, December and January because we have a lot of work ahead of us," Tost told AUTOSPORT. "We simply have to catch up.

"It's, year-by-year, a developing process - you can never stop. We will work hard. We still have to improve the infrastructure, we have to bring people in. We have a lot of work in front of us, but hopefully all these tasks we have set up, we will find a successful solution for them."

But Tost believes Toro Rosso can stay ahead of the likes of Lotus and Virgin next year, despite their anticipated progress into their second seasons.

"Yes, I'm confident about this," he said. "We will work hard because this is our target."
