Bentley back to British GT Championship in 2016 with Team Parker

The Leicestershire-based team, which claimed this year's Blancpain Endurance Series Am Cup title with Julian Westwood and Ian Loggie driving an Audi R8 LMS ultra, will campaign a pair of Bentley Continental GT3s in British GT alongside another BES attack in the Pro-Am class.

Parker's entries will be the first Bentleys in British GT since the Continental's first full season of racing in 2014, when Generation Bentley Racing fielded one car and M-Sport another on a customer basis.

Bentley Motorsport boss Brian Gush said he was "extremely excited to have Team Parker Racing in the fold".

"Having a strong presence in the British GT Championship was a key focus for us for 2016," he explained.

"It is one of the top national GT championships in the world and it's right on our doorstep, so it makes perfect sense to work with a seasoned championship team like Team Parker Racing and aim for the overall title."

Team boss Stuart Parker added: "We're absolutely delighted to have signed a deal with Bentley: it is a fantastic British brand that is close to my heart."

The Parker team, which ran a GT4 class Ginetta G55 in the opening six rounds of this year's British series, will be announcing drivers for both programmes in the coming months.

The deal with Parker for British GTs and the BES was announced at the same time as Bentley's split with the German HTP Motorsport squad.
