Tracy pleased with debut result

Paul Tracy believes he achieved everything he aimed for, by finishing his maiden NASCAR Busch race in 24th place

After starting in 37th, Tracy recovered from being three laps down to finish on the lead lap of the Hershey's Kissables 300 at Daytona, after seasoned Nextel Cup runner John Andretti tapped Tracy into a spin on lap 51 of the race's 120 laps.

Tracy hit the concrete wall and damaged the cowling on his car, but due to the number of caution periods and NASCAR's lucky dog rule, he worked his way back up the field.

"We finished the race and did what we needed to do," Tracy told autosport.com. "When we got up to the front, things were going great.

"After we got spun out, we were three laps down. So it was a case to ride it out, ride it out, ride it out.

"You knowthere are going to be yellows at the end, so we got back and then you are in a position to race those last five laps.

"We had a great race on those last five laps, in the battle to the end. Before the weekend I said if we could finish in the top 20 I would feel like we would have won the race.

"This was probably one of the easier tracks to get around. I have a good chance of doing well at Mexico City on a road course and from there I've got one more race in Vegas and then I start worrying about Champ Car racing. It was a good run for us and I'm happy with how it went.

"I guess now I can say I've been hit by every Andretti I've ever raced with...."
