Sadler on Talladega Pole

Ford driver Elliott Sadler has taken pole for Sunday's UAW-Ford 500 at Talladega Superspeedway

Sadler was nearly half a mph faster than teammate Dale Jarrett around the 2.66 mile superspeedway. Next in the lineup are a pair of Chasers in Ryan Newman and Tony Stewart.

Another four of the chasers made the top eleven places in qualifying, while Rusty Wallace had to take a provisional and will start from 41st. A mid-pack qualifying position of 21st has not particular helped Kurt Busch, currently last in the chase.

One place behind Wallace is Kevin Harvick, whose qualifying time which was good enough for the front row was removed after NASCAR discovered three separate irregularities with his car after qualifying. This is the second time this year that Harvick has lost a qualifying time following post-qualifying inspection.
