For the first time since the Chase format has been in place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup, all four Hendrick Motorsports drivers are in contention for the title - counting for a third of the play-off field.
Despite recent rules tweaks, a consequence of developments pioneered by the leading Cup outfit, Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne should continue to deliver the kind of performances that have yielded seven wins for the outfit in 2012.
