Practice Washed Out

Thursday's NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch series practice session have been cancelled due to bad weather - and Friday's practice and qualifying could also be washed out

Practice Washed Out

Steady rain at Darlington Raceway has forced NASCAR officials to move the sessions to today (Friday), but that schedule may be put in jeopardy thanks to an 80 percent chance of rain until Friday evening.

Should it stay dry, the Busch Series is scheduled to now have just one practice for on Friday morning. The Nextel Cup will only have one session on Friday lunchtime.

Jamie McMurray told NASCAR.com that the lack of track time will not be crucial however.

McMurray said: "I was rather excited when I saw rain this morning. This is one of the tracks that really hasn't changed, and we've run pretty much the same setup here for two or three years."

The forecast for Saturday (raceday) is more promising however, with clear skies predicted.
