Fernandez to do Four More Races
Indy Racing League team owner Adrian Fernandez has announced that he will take part in four NASCAR Busch Series races later this year, following his debut in the category on home ground in Mexico in March.
He will drive a Hendrick Motorsports car at California Speedway on September 3, Texas Motor Speedway on November 5, Phoenix International on November 12 and Homestead-Miami on November 19.
Speaking about the drives, Fernandez said: "I am honoured by this opportunity to be part of Lowe's, Hendrick Motorsports and NASCAR.
"I had such a good time with Jim Long and the Hendrick team in Mexico that I wanted to do this again. I am really excited about getting a chance to race on an oval in NASCAR. I understand I have a huge learning curve ahead of me, but I think we can run respectably and have a lot of fun."
Fernandez finished 10th overall in his Busch series debut at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez after leading for a total of four laps early in the race.
