Edwards Wins Richmond Busch

Rookie Carl Edwards took his second Busch Series win of the year at Richmond International Speedway last night, after overtaking Virginia native Elliot Sadler with one lap to go in the 253-laps long race

Edwards, in fact, has led only the final lap of the race, but it was enough to spoil Sadler's hopes of a first victory on home ground. "I've never run this good in my life at Richmond," Sadler said. "It was pretty cool to take the lead and lead some laps. It's a special place."

But Sadler was critical of Edwards' overtaking move, after the two banged wheels, stating: "I think he knew he was not as good as us and that was his only chance, to knock us up out of the way."

The race was run with thirteen caution periods, covering a quarter of the race, and was red flagged at some point after the pitlane surface was covered with oil from damaged cars.

Edwards continues to lead the Championship standings, extending his lead over Clint Bowyer, in second, to 180 points.
