Edwards Doubles Up in Atlanta

Edwards claimed the win on the last lap after chasing down leader Jimmie Johnson over the closing laps of the 325 lap race, just ahead of Greg Biffle and veteran Mark Martin.

The race was lead off behind polesitter Ryan Newman, but a massive crash on lap two brought out the red flags and removed a number of drivers from the middle of the pack. Johnson took the lead in the race at lap ten, going on to split almost all of the remaining laps with Biffle.

Johnson and Biffle controlled the race throughout, with Edwards and Martin running in close proximity. Johnson looked to have finally dropped Biffle after regaining the lead when the race went green on lap 300, but rookie Edwards bided his time and pipped him across the line on the final lap, winning the race by half a car length.
