Busch Takes First Win at Pocono

Kurt Busch overcame two botched up pitstops to take his first victory at Pocono Raceway, winning the Pennsylvania 500 on Sunday

Busch, who started from second, took the lead right at the start and kept the lead for more than half the race. He overcame one bad pitstop to maintain the lead, but eventually had to relinquish it when problems replacing his rear left wheel relegated him to eighth.

But after 203 laps and 12 caution periods - the last on the 203rd lap - the defending Nextel Cup champion took the green-white-checkered flag to claim his first ever win at the Pocono track.

Busch finished ahead of Rusty Wallace and Mark Martin, who each lead parts of the race in Busch's absence at the front.

Crucially, though, points leader Jimmie Stewart finished 12th while Greg Biffle finished 17th. This moved Tony Stewart, who finished seventh, into second place in the championship standings - only 66 points behind Johnson and just 21 points behind relegated Biffle.
