Biffle not surprised by double victory

Greg Biffle says he's not surprised by his sudden upswing in form, which has seen him win the first two races of this year's Chase for the Sprint Cup

The Roush Fenway driver had been winless since his victory at Kansas last year and ended his losing streak two weeks ago at Loudon. Last weekend's success at Dover was the first time in his career he's scored consecutive victories, and he's now tied for second in the points, having entered the Chase in ninth place.

"I wasn't trying before," Biffle joked after Dover. "I don't know, it is quite coincidental, I've put more emphasis on this. The reality is that we haven't been good enough in the past, our car hasn't been good enough to win.

"And I hadn't got it good enough on Saturday to win races. I felt like I was going to be more involved in these last ten races, to be more involved with the adjustments on the car, understanding what everybody's doing, and it's starting to pay dividends for me."

Biffle's crew chief, Greg Irwin, says having Carl Edwards as their teammate has allowed them to learn and improve during the course of the season. He says the five Roush teams are very open in sharing information, something he considers crucial to their current form.

"Of the three teams that won the majority of the races this year, we're fortunate to have one of them as our teammate, so we've got a pretty good benchmark," Erwin said.

"We have a good open policy here and we're able to learn, they're able to learn from us, too. I think what's important is that any time you put a bunch of hard working people together, you give them enough latitude to go off in their own direction for a little bit - somebody's going to stumble on something.

"Hopefully, the whole group will eventually benefit from it."

Biffle is currently ten points behind teammate Carl Edwards in the Sprint Cup standings.
