2004 Nextel Cup calendar released
NASCAR has released its 2004 Nextel Cup schedule, with the major difference being, as expected, the second date for California Speedway, which is the Labor Day event moved from Darlington. The summer Darlington race has been bumped to November 14 instead

The Charlotte all-star race, formerly The Winston but now the Nextel All-Star Challenge, will remain on a weekend of its own, being scheduled for May 22, the week before Charlotte's Memorial Day Coca-Cola 600.
