Lucas Foresti has announced that he will also contest the opening rounds of the new GP3 Series with Carlin alongside his British Formula 3 programme with the team.
The 17-year-old Brazilian made a late switch from Hitech to Carlin for his F3 season, and has taken part in recent GP3 tests with the squad as well.
"I'm very happy to have this opportunity to also compete in GP3," said Foresti.
"The category is new, but already comes with great potential, status and visibility. All the [Formula 1] teams and scouts will be watching our performance.
"The car is very fast, secure and really is quite different from F3. I will focus in both competitions and I'm sure, for my career, this opportunity is unique."
Carlin has already signed McLaren AUTOSPORT BRDC Award winner Dean Smith and American Formula Ford graduate Josef Newgarden for its GP3 programme.
