Corsa Motorsports' Ginetta-Zytek LMP1 car will run in full hybrid electro-ethanol configuration for the first time in this weekend's Lime Rock round of the American Le Mans Series.
On its previous two appearances the car has run in traditional specification as its hybrid systems still required final FIA homologation. This has now been completed, so the car will become the ALMS' first hybrid entry.
"This has been a long time coming," said the team's chief engineer Adrian Lindsey. "We are excited to show people what we've been working on all these months."
Former Formula 1 driver Stefan Johansson and Johnny Mowlem will drive for Corsa again at Lime Rock, which is the first ALMS round since the series' traditional mid-year break to allow its teams to contest the Le Mans 24 Hours.
