Fabio Carbone has signed to join the newly-formed Ultimate Signature team in World Series by Renault this season.
The Brazilian, who has spent the last two seasons racing in Japan, believes the return to Europe will give him the chance to follow in the footsteps of former WSR winners Robert Kubica and Heikki Kovalainen.
"I'm delighted to have this opportunity to return to race in Europe after some very enjoyable seasons in Japan," said Carbone. "The value of the World Series by Renault can be seen just by looking at the list of previous winners.
"Ultimate Signature is a new team, but there is a lot experience behind it. Together with my own racing experience, I feel very confident that we can put together a very strong package."
Ultimate Signature is the result of a tie-up between Ultimate Motorsport and the French Signature team. Carbone's teammate will be fellow Brazilian Claudio Cantelli.
