The International Superstars Series is planning to reduce its number of Italian rounds to three in 2013, while retaining nine events on its calendar.
Promoter FG Group met with teams at Vallelunga over the weekend, and presented plans to run a nine-event schedule, starting at Monza on April 7 and finishing at Sentul in Indonesia at a yet to be specified date.
While none of the other seven European circuits have been confirmed, it is expected that there will be just three Italian circuits including Monza, and that the last race in Europe will be on October 13.
That will be a reduction of local rounds compared to the 2012 schedule, which has already seen events at Monza, Imola, Mugello and Vallelunga, with Pergusa set to host the penultimate round in a fortnight.
The full calendar will be announced in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Hankook is poised to be re-signed as the control tyre supplier for Superstars in 2013.
