Summary

Status: Stopped
That's it for our live coverage of the Australian Grand Prix, which will go down in history as the race that ended Yamaha's longest winless streak. No time to rest though, Sepang coming up in just a week.
Iannone: "For sure I am really happy about this weekend, we worked really well, from the beginning we have really good speed. Unfortunately for this race because we have a really big chance to win but I remain with Dovi, Bautista, I lost a lot time so the Ducati on the straight are really fast. In any case I try my best, it is a really good second position we close with a good result so I am really happy, thanks team, thanks everybody."
Dovizioso: "I am so happy because we struggle always in this track like every weekend here, the weather is strange there is a lot of wind and created a lot of problems to the riders. At the end today the condition was good, I was able to make a good strategy, good start, I was able to save the tyre at the beginning so I arrive at the end on the limit like everybody but it was difficult to manage the tyre but I was in the right position and I was able finish on the podium. So happy, we work so hard to get it and thank you to the team and Ducati."
Vinales: "It feels amazing, it's been so difficult year for me. I could not realise that I win, the bike was perfect today I just push my best. I just have to say thanks to the team because they work awesome this weekend, they provide me a bike to win, that is the target and just for sure when I crossed the line I had tears in my eyes. I just want to remember all the people at home that is supporting me so much, and it is giving me extra motivation in the low times. It is amazing, winning in Australia, a place I love to be in, I don't know if tonight we'll catch the flight."
Zarco: "The body is okay, I have a bit pain on the left but I am okay. I got a good last corner exit so I went next to Marc, then he got the slipstream of Jack, went on the side of Jack and then I got the slipstream of Jack. I ride very fast to the next corner and Marquez didn't want to overtake him so he was braking not too far and went little bit on the left side and I was just there. I could not slow down even more and maybe I should brake earlier but was a bit complicated. I touch his rear wheel and totally fly away, very high speed crash. Really happy that I stay in the grass as long as I was sliding on my back and in this way I could save my body."
Marquez: "Just I feel very lucky because I was really close to have a highside. For me, I will not complain to Johann because it is a racing incident, at that speed at the end of the straight in slipstreams you feel a lot and maybe he take the drift from me, from Jack, and was so difficult to stop the bike. The most important thing is that both riders are okay. Luckily I already done the championship last week, looks like again, one more time in Phillip Island zero points, this time not my mistake but okay, happy that both of us are okay."
Results: 1 Vinales; 2 Iannone; 3 Dovizioso; 4 Bautista; 5 Rins; 6 Rossi; 7 Miller; 8 Morbidelli; 9 A. Espargaro; 10 Smith; 11 Abraham; 12 Petrucci; 13 Redding; 14 Nakagami; 15 Simeon; 16 Luthi; 17 Torres; 18 Jones.

Vinales begins the final lap of the race as Dovizioso is trying to take second from Iannone.
Rossi dropped out of the podium fight, he's now trying to keep fifth from Rins and Miller.
Vinales loses another four tenths but he is still leading by 2.1s with two laps remaining. Might be too little too late from Iannone.
A mistake-free lap and Iannone cuts into Vinales' advantage by a whole second!
Pol Espargaro retires in the pits, denying KTM a chance to get a double top 10 finish.
The battle for second continues as Iannone passes Dovizioso with a brave move at Lukey Heights.
Five laps to go, Vinales is primed to end Yamaha's 25-race winless streak.
Both Ducatis slipstream past Rossi. Meanwhile at the front, Vinales is completely untroubled.
Now it's Rossi back in second followed by Dovizioso, Iannone, Bautista and Rins.
Syahrin crashes from ninth at Honda Corner.
Dovizioso passes Bautista for second as Vinales extends his lead to 3.3s.
Rossi is demoted by both Bautista and Dovizioso. Can the factory Ducatis do anything about Vinales' pace?
With 13 laps remaining, Vinales leads his teammate Rossi by two seconds. Yamaha will never get a better chance to win this year.
With that, Bautista is running third on his debut as a Ducati factory rider.
Iannone disturbs Rossi's attempt to catch up with Vinales and then runs terribly wide at Turn 4.
A crash for Pedrosa at Turn 4. Repsol Honda is out of this race.
Top 10 (lap 11): 1 Vinales; 2 Rossi; 3 Iannone; 4 Dovizioso; 5 Bautista; 6 Rins; 7 Miller; 8 Syahrin; 9 Smith; 10 P. Espargaro.
Rossi and Iannone both pass Dovizioso, who then also drops behind his teammate Bautista. Vinales meanwhile built a lead of a second.
Vinales takes the lead from Dovizioso as Rossi moves up to third. The Yamahas look very solid at the moment.
Meanwhile Vinales is suddenly second! He was down in ninth a few laps ago.
Zarco hit the back of Marquez at Turn 1 under braking but has thankfully walked away from the incident already. Marquez's bike is broken, his victory bid is over.
Huge crash for Zarco!
Marquez goes wide at Turn 4 and allows Dovizioso and Miller through. Behind them Vinales makes contact with Rins but both stay on. Action everywhere!
Iannone is fighting for second with Dovizioso but ends up running wide and giving up third to Miller.
Top 10 (lap 3): 1 Marquez; 2 Dovizioso; 3 Iannone; 4 Miller; 5 Zarco; 6 Rossi; 7 Rins; 8 Vinales; 9 P. Espargaro; 10 Syahrin.
Another disastrous start from Vinales as he's languishing down in ninth place.
Marquez ran way too wide at Turn 1 but is somehow back into the lead by the end of the first sector of the race. In second place we have Dovizioso. That's... unexpectedly familiar.
Superb start from Danilo Petrucci as he leads from eighth on the grid, and then runs off track a corner later. His teammate and local hero Miller into the lead now!
Green flag!
The hard rear tyre was the most popular choice in FP4, and it will be used by everyone on the first three rows except Johann Zarco in third, the Frenchman sticking with the soft compound.
Warm-up lap underway.
